Mable and the Wood leads latest batch of playable games heading to EGX 2018
The EGX 2018 line-up of playable games has doubled in size today with the addition of four indie titles all of which will be available to play in the Rezzed Zone. Check out all the info below and get ready for further reveals in the coming weeks.
Mable and the Wood is not your standard pixel art platformer. For a start, you can’t jump. You can’t even lift the mysterious giant sword that Mable drags along the ground. Fortunately Mable is a shape-shifter who can transform into a fairy and fly off, leaving her sword in the ground. That giant sword can then be pulled back to her hand, slicing through anything in its path.
Mable can transform into into multiple forms all of which provide new ways for you to traverse the environment, reaching previously isolated locations and unlocking secret areas, as well as providing powerful tools to defeat anything that stands in your way. Will you banish the darkness from the world, or will you become it?
An exclusive build of Mable and the Wood will be playable at EGX, with free copies of the game for the fastest speedrunners over the event. You can wishlist the game now on Steam for PC, Mac and Linux.
Catastronauts is a fast paced, action packed, 1-4 player party game set in space! Gather your courageous crew and battle through waves of enemies armed to the teeth. Arm the torpedoes, repair the systems, destroy your friends and clone them back again; it's all in the life of a Catastronaut!
Empires in Ruins is the story-driven child of 4X and Tower Defense genres. Wear the awkward, liquor ridden armour of sullen Sergeant Hans Heimer. Quell the rebellion, defend against the invaders, and manage your provinces lest they wither into oblivion. Piece of advice, aiming for prosperity might be a tad utopian...
Fight your battles in a unique mix of RTS and TD, against hordes of enemies in a grim land, accompanied by an original folk metal soundtrack. A battle map beta will be publicly available for the first time at the game's EGX stand. Fight first, build later!
A dark evil has taken over the Kingdom, the royal family has been slain and the young prince has fled far away to the safety of the wilderness. The terrors he had witnessed still haunt him to this day, many years on. Now he and his faithful dragon survive living off the land, through trials and tribulations, their bond grows. The prince’s journey continues.
For the first time, this year at EGX, the origins of this story will be playable publicly before the game's imminent release. Explore a large fantasy castle where this all started.
