Find out how Firaxis saved XCOM from complete disaster
Jake Solomon, Creative Director at Firaxis, will be joined by Eurogamer's Chris Bratt to discuss the turbulent development of 2012's Enemy Unknown during an on-stage interview at this month's EGX.
Taking place at 4pm (BST) on Thursday the session will tell the remarkable story of how a dream project almost didn't get made. Enemy Unknown brought the XCOM franchise back from the grave and was extremely well received by fans and critics alike. However, its development was anything but straightforward. As Solomon himself has said, in regards to an early prototype of the game: "We lovingly crafted the biggest pile of **** that anyone has ever made." So how did Firaxis turn it around?
