13th September 2018
EGX teams up with CheckPoint & Gaming the Mind to create chill-out space at EGX 2018
The CheckPoint will be a place for visitors to take a break from the noise, people and photos on the show floor. Visitors can chill out in peace and quiet, try out new wellbeing tech, and get tips on managing their mental health. This is a space for the visitors to use as they need, and CheckPoint and Gaming the Mind volunteers will be there to assist them in achieving whatever that is.
CheckPoint is a charity that connects mental health resources with video games, by improving the wellbeing of those who play games and advocating for the use of games for good. Their missions are to raise awareness of mental health issues, help those in need, and to reduce stigma.
Gaming the Mind are dedicated to exploring the crossover between video games and mental health! Through media, community outreach, education, and collaborating with healthcare professionals, they aim to promote positive mental health within the gamer community. You can check them out on twitter.
EGX attendees will be able find the CheckPoint room off the main show floor in the atrium area of the event. It will be labelled clearly on the show floor maps.
EGX, the UK's biggest games event, returns to the NEC in Birmingham on the 20th-23rd September. What are you waiting for, get your tickets now!
