Board games session debut at EGX with City of Kings

For the first time ever EGX will host a board games developer session, giving attendees an insight into the development process of a pre-release tabletop game.

City of Kings is a cooperative fantasy adventure game which has enjoyed a hugely successful crowdfunding campaign. In the game up to four players take on the roles of surviving leaders in a bid to defeat the armies of Vesh over a series of seven stories.

In a session titled 'Designing The City of Kings, a MMORPG inspired board game', the game's creator Frank West will talk through the two year journey of building a world and designing a board game inspired by video games.

The session will take place at 3pm on Thursday and those not at EGX will be able to catch the session live on Twitch and it'll be available to watch later on our YouTube channel.

City of Kings will be playable on the show floor as part of our biggest ever board games feature which will also include a large tabletop library managed by our friends at Playopolis. Look out for a full list of playable tabletop games coming soon.

We're celebrating the tenth EGX event this year and plan to make it our best ever so why not join us at the NEC in Birmingham on the 21st to 24th September. Tickets are available to purchase here.
