Get hands-on with the world's biggest PC and console games before they're released. With over 250 playable games across the event.
For the love of the game
If each of the attractions at EGX was forced to tough it out in some kind of video games event Battle Royale, the EGX Gaming Area would be the undisputed winner. It’s the biggest by far, for starters, and a firm favourite among everyone who comes to the show.
So what is it?
As the name suggests, the EGX gaming area is a space to simply come, sit, and play. But these aren’t just any old games. These are unreleased, unexplored, and in some cases literally, never-seen-before games.
Think dimmed lights, glowing screens, and nervous anticipation. Row upon row of purpose-built gaming stations giving you an unrivalled choice of the first play experience.
What do I get?
You get your hands on some of the world’s biggest PC and console games before they're released, that’s what.
Once again there’ll be giant stands from world-famous publishing giants (keep your eyes peeled for more information!) alongside a whole host of units run by talented indie developers, keen to show off their games and give you the inside track on the story behind them.
You can go it alone or get competitive with multiplayer or tournament options (we’ve seen some epic partnerships forged in the queue before!), the choice is yours.
In previous years we’ve been proud to present first plays of Pokémon Let’s Go, Call of Duty: BlackOps 4, Dreams, FIFA 19, Kingdom Hearts III, Metro Exodus, Division 2, Assassins Creed, Super Smash Bros Ultimate and the now much-adored indie smash hit, Untitled Goose Game.
All this plus the chance to have your photo taken at your favourite developer’s stand and buy some one-off merch (everything from pin badges to character figurines, and even scented candles at last year’s show)!
Publishers and games are being confirmed all the time so keep checking back here for the latest updates.
Just can’t wait?
There’s nothing quite like being first. For a guaranteed fast track to your chosen game, upgrade to an early doors ticket and enjoy a blissful extra hour of time in the EGX Gaming Area before everyone else gets access at 11am.
